Drug Haul Worth Over ₹10 Crore Seized in Lucknow

Lucknow: In a major crackdown on drug trafficking, the Anti-Narcotics Task Force (ANTF) of Uttar Pradesh has seized a cache of narcotics valued at over ₹10 crore from the Gau Ghat area in Thakurganj, Lucknow. Four individuals, including a woman, have been arrested in connection with the operation.

According to ANTF officials, the seizure was made on Sunday under the directives of DGP Rajeev Krishna and Inspector General Abdul Hameed. The team confiscated one kilogram of morphine, 252 grams of charas, 5.5 kilograms of ganja, six grams of MDMA (commonly known as ecstasy), ₹79,530 in cash, four mobile phones, and a car.

The arrested individuals have been identified as Ayush Nishad (20), Sufiyan (20), Shravan Kumar Nishad (65), and Neha Nishad (24)—all residents of the Gau Ghat and Wazirbagh localities in Lucknow. During preliminary interrogation, the accused admitted to trafficking and selling narcotics such as morphine, charas, ganja, and MDMA for high profits.

A case has been registered against them at Thakurganj Police Station under relevant sections of the Narcotic Drugs and Psychotropic Substances (NDPS) Act. ANTF officials confirmed that further investigation is underway to uncover the full supply chain and network involved in the illegal drug trade.
